Totally sick

A nine-year-old Brazilian girl whose stepfather raped her underwent an abortion at a Brazil public hospital on Wednesday in spite of vocal opposition from the Roman Catholic Church.

The pro-life movement views itself as a righteous endeavor to save unborn children, but this is the real ugly truth - sacrificing the physical and emotional well-being of a living and breathing actual child in favor of a pair of 15-week-old fetuses. Forget a traumatized little girl who probably just wants to be a kid again, she's pregnant with her stepfather's twins and their needs automatically trump hers. I'm just glad she was allowed to undergo the procedure regardless of the vocal objections and legal hoops because now maybe she can get the help she probably needs after such a horrific attack from someone she probably thought she could trust.

I'm disgusted.
