Addendum: Although now that I listen to it all the way through, it certainly is poignant. I'm not one to manufacture a buckets of tears for someone I don't know, but obviously his death is very sad. Clearly, fame can damage people, and Michael Jackson was one of the most famous men in the world.
Whether Jackson molested children or not is, in my opinion, not worth using as a yardstick to determine his worth. People are complex and we can have equally complex and nuanced opinions about them. A court of law found him not guilty. That's good enough for me. I certainly think he was inappropriately close with some children, but it's unfair of us to say with any certainty that he sexually abused children. Either way, his music made literally billions of people happy. I don't expect that we'll ever experience a performer of his brilliance again.
